FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All online payments are charged a $2.00 convenience fee. Credit card payments also incur a processing fee of 2.5%, while ACH (aka electronic funds transfer) transactions have a $1.00 processing fee.
Your User ID is listed in the upper right corner of the recent notice from the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) that you received regarding repayment of your unemployment overpayment.
Your input must match exactly with what is listed on record in LWC’s HiRE system. Please be sure you are entering your name and User ID exactly as it appears on the recent notice you received from the LWC regarding repayment of your unemployment overpayment.
It may take up to three business days for HiRE to update your Overpayment balance. Your payment will be credited to the day payment was made. If your payment is not reflected in your Overpayment balance in HiRE after three business days, please call our Unemployment Call Center at 866-783-5567 during normal business hours. Select the Overpayment line option.
Payments may fail for a number of reasons, with the most common being invalid CVV or address and insufficient funds. Be sure your account balance is high enough to cover both the payment amount and the online processing fee. ACH payments sometimes fail due to a debit block in place for business accounts. If needed, you may provide the processor’s Originator ID: 1522077581 to your bank to preauthorize the transaction. If you believe your payment has failed in error, please contact your financial institution for a detailed explanation.
For information about any overpayment case(s) you have, login to HiRE at www.louisianaworks.net and go to Services for Individuals > Unemployment Services > Claim Summary. If you have questions about the status of your overpayment, call our Unemployment Call Center at 866-783-5567 during normal business hours. Select the Overpayment line option.
